α-PHiP, also commonly referred to as alpha-PHiP , is a cathinone-class compound and a structural isomer of the parent compound pyrovalerone, which has been widely prescribed in recent decades to treat lethargy, drowsiness and chronic fatigue.

It is also very similar to the other, better known compounds A-PHP and MDPV, substances that produce a feeling of euphoria when ingested.

Just like pyrovalerone, α-PHiP can be expected to induce euphoria, increased energy, and improved focus when ingested, although no studies have been conducted to confirm this.

Like all psychoactive cathinones, α-PHiP is believed to increase the release of dopamine and inhibit the reuptake of adrenaline, noradrenaline and serotonin in the central nervous system.
